Parachute man and I almost went otu again last night but, by popular vote, decided we were both too tired to make it out. We chatted a few minutes from our respective beds and said good night. He made it clear to me yesterday afternoon when he called that he was free to see me whenever I could see him this week. He's definitely put himself out there. A few minutes after we said good night, he sent me a text "In my bed, wish you were too". Va - voom! Someome is thinking about me. I replied simply 'Anticipation...'
Then, as I was relaxing in bed and knitting, the phone rings. Caller ID does not identify it for me. It is Architect. He was sounding much more mid-western than when we met in person for lunch. Drawing out his words as if he was actually writing them. It is hard not to align slow talk with slow mind - but I am fighting against this prejudice. We talked all about his weekend (his is loaded a little because his parents appear to both be quite ill) and mine, he's having a hard time adjusting to NYC again (all the noise, he says, makes it hard to think). He is sounding like a boy who wants OUT of NYC. I guess 10 days in Shantytown can do that to you. (no shit - that is the name of his town). He was very sweet though and asked all about school starting - about teaching - about how it fits into my life - and wished me luck. We are supposed to go out this weekend sometime. Maybe this one will actually have a calming effect on me. That or he'll bore me. Let's cross our fingers for the former... (i swear he got a little excited hearing that i was knitting...)

He was also a bit slow in person - there were some awkward moments that I did not know how to interpret. Hopefully, his slowness will only serve to improve his accuracy! I am being hopeful...
